Vehicles that have been lowered often suffer from excessive rear toe settings. Not only is this detrimental to the cornering stability of the vehicle, but it also promotes much more rapid and uneven tire wear. Many believe that a four-wheel alignment will remedy the problems associated with lowering a vehicle. However, the truth is that proper alignment specifications are not possible to achieve even with the eccentric bolt adjusted to its limit. As a result, lowered vehicles that haven’t had the toe properly adjusted can wear tires up to 3.5 times more quickly than a vehicle that has been properly aligned.
